In for repairs

The workshops pilot usually ran around 12:30 - 1:30pm when there was a lull in services on the mainline, and the pilot was available from shunting duties in Ballarat yard.. The pilot would convey wagons requiring repairs or departmental wagons transferring parts between the workshops.

Today, Y152 is on pilot duties, pushing (as permitted in the general instructions) two departmental HR wagons, VHQY hopper and VLBY lourve van. The first HR is conveying bogies to the workshops, the VHQY is in for repairs with a and a crack in the frame), the HR open wagon is conveying parts from Jolimont workshops and the VLBY is in for repairs and repaint. Y152 will pick up refurbished wagons from the Ballarat North Workshops and return to Ballarat yard.
