Double headed goods to Skipton


T386 and T359 double head a goods to Skipton to clear the silos. The goods departed via no.2 road at 6.36am on Friday 16th November 1984.


With the start of the harvest only fortnight away, T386 and T359 worked a short grain extra to Skipton on the 16th November 1984 to clear the last of the grain from 1983/84 season from the silos. The train consisted entirely of GH hoppers. This was the first double headed working on the branchline for sometime. 

T386-T359 accelerate out of Ballarat and past the Doveton Street sidings with an empty GH hoppers for loading at the Skipton silos.

On the return journey  T359 and T386 picked up 4 open wagons with shipping containers loaded with kaolin from the plant at Pittong. The  movement of this seasons grain harvest to ports of Geelong and Portland is expected to commence in the last week of November 1984.

T359 and T386 run through the junction at Ballarat North with a grain extra from Skipton.

T359 and T386 arrive in the departure and arrival sidings in Ballarat yard. The locos will cut off and run to Ballarat East Locomotive Depot for servicing.
