W243, T346, B63, B74 and Y116 rest around the turntable at Ballarat East, 21st October 1984

W250, Y151,T345 and B67 sit around the turntable while nose of B84 protrudes from the fuel point. 


On Sunday 21st October, B74, B63, B67, B84, T322, T345, T346, Y116, Y151, Y152, W243 and W250.were gathered around the turntable at Ballarat East Loco. It's unusual to have 4 B class at Ballarat East Loco, particularly with the number of the class 5hat have been withdrawn for rebuilding into A class. 


W250 and Y151 are stabled around the turntable while in the background B74 is turned in preparation for running 8122 Up Ballarat pass.



C505-C503-963 arrive at Ballarat 20 minutes late at 07 18 on the 9130 Adelaide - Melbourne Express Goods. After a 2 minute pause for a crew change, C505-C503-963 depart, snaking through Ballarat yard. The express goods will run via North Geelong with crossing loop upgrade works scheduled on 'The Straight'.



C505-C503-963 arrive at Ballarat at 07 18 on the 9130 Adelaide - Melbourne Express Goods.

At 07 45 Y151 and Y152 depart for Windermere for a ballast special to Bacchus Marsh. The Y's will make two return trips between Windermere and Bacchus Marsh during the day.






At 08 45 B74 departs Ballarat on the 8122 Up Ballarat pass. B74 will return to Ballarat on the 8115 pass in the afternoon.




At 09 14, C510-X46-957 arrive at Ballarat on the 9132 Melbourne - Adelaide Express Goods, after a pause of 5 minutes, the locos commence the climb up Warrenheip bank.




At 11 21 S310 and S305 arrive at Ballarat on the 8105 Down Dimboola pass. The Sunday Dimboola pass is usually double headed by either S or X class.  This set has an non refurbished AS car in the consist which will soon be replaced by ACZ.





After a 5 minute is stop, S310 and S313 depart for Dimboola on the 8105 pass.


At 11 52 Y151 and Y152 arrive back at Ballarat and run non stop through the station to reload the ballast wagons at Windermere. They will run another ballast train to Bacchus Marsh in the afternoon.
