Early Sunday morning was usually when the most locomotives were present at the Ballarat East locomotive depot. On Sunday 9th September 1984, gathered around the turntable were W250, Y153, B64, Y152, Y151 and W243. Over at the fuelpoint were a trio of flat-tops, T322, T333 and T345.

Both Y class and W class share pilot duties at Ballarat. With no pilots rostered on a Sunday morning, Y152, Y151 and W243 are shutdown around the turntable. |
Whilst wandering around the depot, B64 departed, running to carriage shed to retrieve N set that would form the 08.45am Up Ballarat pass.

Later on the mainline, B64 ran past the locomotive depot at 8:47am with the 8122 pass. 12 minutes later X47-X46-B68 roared past on an Up Jet (9132) of 31 wagons and with two 8300 guards vans on the rear.

X47-X46-B68 are in eight notch as they lift 9132 Adelaide - Melbourne Express Goods out of Ballarat yard.
