Vinelander Sleeping Car No.11

The Vinelander roomette sleeping car No.11 was released from Ballarat North Railway Workshops following repainting into V/Line colours on the 6th August 1984.

Workshops shunter W247 pushes sleeping car no.11 onto a repainted VLCX.

The roof has been repainted grey and the sides feature "The Vinelander" in upper and lower case lettering. A orange painted steel panel with a V/Line logo has been  placed over the stainless steel fluting. Interestingly sleeper No.11 hasn't been recoded to SJ. Sleeper No.11 joins Sleeper No.13 (recoded SJ282) in V/Line colours.

W250 on the workshops pilot runs past C507-S305 on 9121 Melbourne- Adelaide Express Goods at Ballarat C Box.

Sleeper no.11 left Ballarat North Railway Workshops on the midday workshops pilot behind W250. It was subsequently attached empty as leading car on 8142 Up Ballarat pass behind B69. Passenger cars outshopped from Ballarat North Railway Workshops are often returned to Melbourne empty on Ballarat pass services.

B69 departs Ballarat on 8142 pass with sleeping car no.11 attached.
