B81 last run before withdrawal for rebuilding

B81 last run before withdrawal for rebuilding into an A class was on the 11th August 1984 when it was rostered to run the 8105 pass to Dimboola and return. B81 is the only B class in VicRail's orange and silver tea-cup livery to be sent west to Clyde's Rosewater plant for rebuilding into an A class.

B81 departs Ballarat station station on the 8105 Dimboola pass.

B81 will be last B to be rebuilt, as the originally planned rebuilding of all 26 B class has been abandoned in favour of adding another 15 new locomotives to the already placed order for 10 new N class.

B81 will be stripped of parts before being dispatched to Clyde's Rosewater plant later in the month.

B81 runs across Lydiard Street on the 8105 pass.

B81 accelerates through Ballarat North on the 8105 pass.
