Double headed 930's on the 8122 Ballarat pass

With the continuing locomotive shortages in Victoria, 930's have wandered onto other train workings, away from the usual roster on the Overland and interstate express goods. Friday 22nd June 1984, saw 942-934-X46 work the on the 9101 Melbourne - Ballarat Fast Goods.  The two Alco's were returned to Melbourne Saturday morning on the 8122 Up Ballarat pass.

942-934-X46 roll down grade past Ballarat East locomotive depot with the 9101 Melbourne - Ballarat Fast Goods.

Having been turned overnight, 942 will lead 934 back to Melbourne on 8122 Ballarat pass.

At 7:45am, 942 and 934 depart Ballarat on 8122 pass.

The first recorded working of double headed 930's on a Ballarat passenger service was on 23rd June 1984 when 933 and 940 ran the 0745 Up Ballarat pass. 942 was used on the Friday night to rescue X41 which had failed at Mount Albert on ballast train with T338.
