A77 delivery run 17 May 1984

 


On the 17th May 1984, C505 on 9130 Adelaide-Melbourne Express Goods slows as it approaches Ballarat station towing A77 dead attached. A77 is on its delivery run to Victoria and V/Line.

B77 had been sent west for rebuilding from a ML2 to AAT22C-2R in February 1983, emerging from Clyde's Rosewater plant as A77 15 months later.  A77 is the third B class to be rebuild.

A77 rolls across Lydiard Street on the 9130 Adelaide-Melbourne Express Goods.


C505 pauses for a crew change, providing an opportunity for passengers to get a closer look at V/Line's new locomotives for country passenger services. 

An almost new A77 at South Dynon loco on 29/05/1984. Two days later, A77 had its first run on the 15:50 Ballarat pass and returning on the 18:45 service.
