At 3:58am on Tuesday 3rd April 1984, Y152 runs past the way and works siding at Ballarat North with the 362 Ararat - Ballarat Roadside Goods. The train only consists of 3 empty GY's trailed by a ZL guards van. With no loading offering, Y152 on No. 362 had run BONA from Ararat to Beaufort, retrieving the GY's from no. 5 Road in Beaufort yard. The GY's had delivered the first superphosphate for the season to Beaufort.

Each weekday there was one scheduled Roadside Goods between Ballarat and Ararat, Train numbers 383 and 362. 383 Ballarat - Ararat Roadside Goods was scheduled to depart Ballarat each weeknight at 7pm, with the return working 362 scheduled to arrive back at Ballarat at 4:15am. The Roadside Goods undertook a range of pick up and set-out moves at the intermediate stations between Ararat and Ballarat. The Roadside Goods usually only consisted of a few wagons, often a couple of open wagons and a lourve van. Regular power for these workings were one of the Y class based at Ballarat.
