Briquettes are regularly conveyed in both four wheeled and bogie open wagons to various customers in the Ballarat region. The wagons arrive overnight on the 9101 Melbourne - Ballarat Fast Goods and are shunted into the yard onto the loading for the 75 Flour Mill pilot for delivery to the unloading area at the Doveton Street sidings.
At 7:51am Y152 departs on the 75 Flour Mill pilot pushing a short rake of VHGY's loaded with grain, and a VOBX and G open wagon with briquettes.

Once the VHGY's have been shunted into flour mill sidings and the loco has run around the open wagons, Y152 pushes the VOBX and G to the Doveton Street sidings. These are attached to the empty VOAA in the unloading siding, which is then shunted into the adjacent vacant siding. The VOBX and G are then pushed into the unloading siding and detached from the loco. Y152 then runs forward the points are thrown and it reverses onto the empty VOAA wagon and then departs running along the flour mill sidings to Ballarat C Box then crossing over to the Up line and pushing the empty VOAA back to Ballarat yard.

The local contractor will use an auger to unload the wagons into tip trucks for delivery to customers within Ballarat and surrounding areas. The empty wagons will be picked up by the afternoon 97 Flour Mill pilot.
I use both 4 wheeled G wagons (mostly Steam Era kits) and bogie VOBX (BGB, Lima and scratchbuilt) and occasionally a VOAA to transport the briquettes. The Briquette load is actually black coal from the State Coal Mine at Wonthaggi that has been crushed and glued in place.
