I've been wanting to add some early smooth sided 20ft shipping containers (Columbus Line, ANL and NYK) to replicate the consists seen in the intrastate and interstate goods trains of the early 1980's.
For these I've used old Trax containers that I sprayed either white or silver and then printed designs available Mad about Rail Modellers facebook page onto clear laser printer labels.
These are definitely quicker to produce than with decals and hopefully are a bit more durable when the loaded in open wagons.
The shipping containers have been weathered with powders. I'm hopping to produce a few more but can't find the box in the shed that I had these other containers stored in!
