Morning cross at Ballarat Station

 On weekday mornings if the Dimboola pass was running late, it would often arrive when the Horsham pass was at the Ballarat station, necessitating the use of both platforms.  At 9:56am X50 running 21 minutes late, slows on its approach to Ballarat station with the 8130 Up Dimboola pass. With the Horsham pass due at 9:58am, X50 will use platform 2 or the north platform. Further details on the morning cross are in the captions. 

X50 arrives late at Ballarat late on 8130 Dimboola - Melbourne pass. The train had been delayed by works associated with CTC west of Ararat.

After an express run via North Geelong, B68 arrives on time at 9:58am on 8105 Down Horsham pass. The Horsham pass is scheduled to have a 10min stop at Ballarat, allowing passengers just enough time for a quick visit to the refreshment rooms.

X50 idles away at the head of 8130 Up Dimboola pass while the VBPY at the rear of the 8105 Horsham pass while can be seen at platform 1.

To make up time on the schedule, X50 departs at 10:01am 

X50 weaves its way through Ballarat yard on 8130 Up Dimboola pass. Soon the X will tackle thebnotorious 1 in 52 grade of Warrenheip bank. B81 in the background is scheduled to run a empty wheat special to Dunolly with the rake of grain wagons in the yard.

On time at 10:08am, the 8105 Horsham pass departs Ballarat.
