Stalled

 

After being stopped at post 29, W250 was unable to lift its load on no.76 flour mill pilot into Ballarat yard.

W250 on the no. 76 Flour Mill pilot was unable to lift its load after being stopped at post 29. After a short delay, W243 was requisitioned from yard pilot duties to assist W250 to bring its rake of empty grain hoppers and a single lourve van into Ballarat yard. 


W243 assists W250 through Ballarat station into Ballarat yard.


With the drought making grain in short supply, the consist included two Australian National AHGX hoppers which had brought wheat from Western Australia for milling at the Garden City Flour Mill at Ballarat North. 

W243 and W250 set back into the yard, the 2 AHGX have been placed into no.5 road, the VLCX loaded with bagged flour has placed into no.6 road with other wagons that will form the evening 9170 Ballarat - Melbourne Goods. The empty GH hoppers are being placed on the weigh bridge track and will form part of a goods to Dunolly in the afternoon. 

W243 has returned to shunting the goods shed, leaving W250 to make up the afternoon goods to Dunolly.
