Sheep yards

 

Situated to the east of Gillies Street on the Ballarat Cattleyards branch were sheep races and yards. 

This is one of the difficult corners of a layout, a small triangular area upagainst the backdrop which I didn't really know what to do with. Originally I was thinking of just having it as a parking area filled with farmers utes and trucks, but finally decided to settle on building an additional ramp and yards in the same style as yards on the west side of the Gillies Street. 

There was only enough room to include a race and two sides of a holding yard. I plan to add a row of Cypress Pines and continue these onto the backscene. 

Background trees will be added in the next few days. I'm also thinking of building a truck in half relief crossing the tracks on Gillies Street to try and camouflage the join with backscene.
