Recently I installed a series of yard lights along the flour mill and Doveton St sidings at Ballarat North.
These are non working lights and were produced from bamboo skewers with paper used to producing the cap on the top of the pole. The light produced from styrene tube with brass wire used for the bracket. The fuse box was produced from scraps of styrene sheet. I guest the height and spacing for the poles from photos. This worked out at about 15m high with a spacing between 21 to 30 metres between the poles. One pole adjacent to Doveton St level crossing had the light at a lower height estimated to be at 11.5m.
Adding these poles and a third dimension (of height) to the sidings has improved the overall realism of the scene.
