The COVID19 restrictions with working from home required me to clear up workbench to set up a home office. This has meant that there has been very little progress on layout projects during the week when the workbench is otherwise occupied but has meant that in the cleanup I did discover some half finished projects. One of these was 3 partially finished GH grain hoppers. These wagons consist of a scratch built body and discharge hoppers on a Steam Era Models GY underframe. Detail parts include brass etched walkways, pin heads for the dimple on the wagon side and ends, staples and wire for the steps and handrails. The hatches are left overs from Railmotor Models J series hopper wagon.
Tonight I finished one of the wagons, GH236, one of the hoppers with two roof hatches, 4 discharge doors and a cutaway end. Details that I added were the discharge doors, handrails and steps. Also One of the walkways on the wagon had been damaged while on the workbench which had to be straightened. I can't locate any brake wheels so I'll have to order these to finish the wagon.
The workbench has been restored to the home office for tomorrow although I'm hopeful that I might be able to finish assembling the other hoppers over the next few nights.
Very good. Really like your scratcbuilding. Thanks
