Transferring passenger cars from Ballarat North Workshops

Passenger cars were regularly transferred to Ballarat North workshops for routine maintenance and upgrades on scheduled passenger trains. Having been transferred to Ballarat in July, a Vinelander sleeper emerged from the workshops in September 1983 internally refurbished (to match the S and Z cars) and externally repainted in V/Line orange and grey.
